Finding a Therapist in Austin: A Step Toward Clarity
You hate uncertainty. And yet, here you are, faced with the uncertainty of finding a therapist in Austin. Because you prefer to avoid uncertainty, you’ve done your research and want to make an informed decision.
This page will tell you more about me and how I work. I also offer a free consultation where you can hear my voice, discuss what therapy might look like for your situation, and confidently decide what’s best for you.
Overcoming Pain, Anxiety, and Insomnia with the Right Therapist in Austin
You’re certain about this: the anxiety, pain, and insomnia can’t continue controlling your life. You need something effective and proven to help—because talking alone simply isn’t enough.
Who I Am as an Austin Therapist: Science-Based and Creative Approaches
I’m not here to just let you talk about your problems. Instead, I integrate science, data, and creativity to help you find relief and resolution.
As a CBT-oriented therapist, my approach combines knowledge of the mind with action to create real, lasting change. I use structured, planful, and data-driven methods, but I’m also flexible and adaptable if a free-flowing approach better meets your specific needs.
With a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Texas State University-San Marcos (2007), I bring unique expertise when you’re looking for a therapist in Austin. My specialized training includes treating sleep issues (insomnia, nightmares, circadian rhythm disorders), PTSD, OCD, RODBT, and chronic pain.
Prior to my private practice, I gained valuable experience in a hospital setting.
A Therapist Who Values Independence and Structured Therapy
Beyond my professional qualifications, I value independence, efficiency, and learning. Most of my therapy approaches are designed to help you become self-sufficient. My goal is for you to eventually rely on your own tools and coping strategies, without needing ongoing intervention.
I also value structure. Many of the therapies I offer are manualized and evidence-based, providing a predictable and effective approach. I use standardized scales and structured clinical interviews to guide our work.
Personal Interests: More Than Just a Therapist in Austin
When I’m not working with clients, you’ll find me enjoying musical theater, watching The Golden Girls, or listening to 90s alternative rock. Raised by teacher parents who instilled a love for reading and learning, I’m a lifelong student at heart—and this passion for learning informs my approach to therapy.
